Nancy Mozzachio Files Lawsuit Against Cedar Realty’s CEO

Nancy H. Mozzachio, former Chief Operating Officer of Cedar Realty, filed a case against Bruce Schanzer CEO for pay discrimination and sexual harassment charges. It will now be all up to a Brooklyn judge to either proceed the lawsuit or not.

Based on the lawsuit Nancy Mozzachio filed on November 2 to CEO Schanzer, she says that she finds Schanzer always leering at women as well as making comments that are not appropriate to them while in the workplace. Aside from calling Nancy Mozzachio ‘babe’, Schanzer also commented about her breast. While holding a coffee cup from Dunkin Donuts, he said allegedly that she has double Ds today. Moreover, she says that Schanzer has been giving here some groping hugs that are just uncalled for.

By the time that Nancy H. Mozzachio filed her case to the court for pay disparity and sexual harassment, the company has then decided that it be best for them to fire her. Come February 2016 when she was done getting some outside help for the sexual harassment case she was filing against the Cedar’s CEO, she was then terminated for her job. According to her, the meeting was canceled and then she was then terminated on the coming week.

By a 2015 external investigator probe, Cedar Realty decided to investigate these allegations. Even if these investigations were being done by the company, Nancy Mozzachio says that the investigator always stepped back when they were allegations of sexual harassment to Schanzer by the female employees. One of the reports of the Wall Street Journal has even gotten some claim from one female employee who has been asked by Schanzer what color her underwear is. In order for the investors not to know about this matter, the company has decided to pay the people who have filed some complaints against Schanzer about their being sexually harassed.

The company has obtained some success because of Nancy Mozzachio and she as well. In 2003, she became the director of leasing and then was promoted vice president by 2004, while in the year 2014, she then became the chief operating officer. According to what she is filing, she complains that she is only getting smaller bonuses as well as lower salaries being the chief operating officer compared to the chief financial officer when in fact she must get them in higher amount. Cedar Realty expectedly denied the charges and as per findings, the allegations were without merit.

Even if this is the outcome, Nancy H. Mozzachio will still not back down. She still strives to ensure that female workers are treated the same as male workers in the workplace and will be safe at all cost.
